With grass geckos, sticky trees, petrified trees and juicy berry bushes i feel like there should also be an alternative to beefalo. I was thinking something on the lines of a sheep/cow. With a cow, a milk item should be also implemented because there isnt much dairy love right now(i barely see anyone make ice cream or muffins). A sheep could be shaved for an off chance of steel wool. What do you guys think?

Very good. There is (or was) beefalo milk in the code. Not implemented. A mod brings it to the table.

About the details, however, I have some doubts. First, beefalos coat is not steel wool. This is from an ewecus. Their biology seems much different. You could have shaggier beefies (like milk/meat/coat breeds of farm animals). Not steel woolly ones. And sheep can be milked too. In other words both should give milk (as they are mammals).

I would rather think about beefies in captivity requiring a special terrain, grass, forest or savannah, while volt goats would not be picky (because in reality, goats are less demanding than cows and sheep). Conditioning and selective breeding (by penning beefies with a tendency together and waiting for their spring heat) would give you different types.

I still long for piglets though. Little piggies raising sanity or something. Yes, I am obsessed. Sorry :).

I find the Ewecus to be especially difficult to deal with, especially when playing alone.  Sometimes i get lucky and he spawns near frogs, who agro on him and finish the job.  Other times, i just die a horrible phlegmy death.

I am hoping they will re-jig the ewecus somewhat.  He is kind of cute (in a weird way) but I wish his drops were more useful.

I love the idea of baby piggies, now that would be awesome!

Have you tried Winnie the Shepherdess of Craft It if you need the wool? Or simply hiring a bunch of pigs to face an ewecus? Because I wholeheartedly agree soloing head-on is suicidal. Traps, tentacles, pigs (to clear you of the mucus), merms, clockworks... This is a way to go if you ask me.

I would love more followers that would be difficult to obtain, like a pet lavae, but worth the effort (like pigs and hounds, and goats, raised from infancy).

Play with a pig army, they clean you outta the slime IMMEDIATELY.

Also, riding beefalo is extremely useful while fighting it, as it will not use the spit attack on you.
