uberseed
I have been experimenting with elephant cacti for a while, and here are my observations: 1) They do attack butterflies 2) They do attack crabs 3) They do attack birds 4) They do attack walls ...and so on. HOWEVER, the triggers have been really inconsistent. I spawned crabs/frobs/butterflies/tallbird/hounds next to the cacti but they didnt attack any of those. A while later, the cacti started attacking the creatures, and then stopped for a while. Is there any special rule that I'm missing here? I would love to build some kind of farm using this plant. uberseed
Update: I have been working with 3 cacti. Sometimes only 1 cactus actively attacks mobs while the other two remain inactive (will only attack the character) . I have no idea what the cause is. AnonymousKoala
How do you even move them away to places? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64970-how-elephant-cacti-work/#findComment-728671 Share on other sites

(I haven't found them yet so I'm just assuming) I think the reason why sometimes they don't activate could be because the trigger that activates the attack is when a creature enters the zone around it, but if you spawn them directly in the zone it doesn't activate Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64970-how-elephant-cacti-work/#findComment-728699 Share on other sites

I cant remember if they're diggable in the rest of the year Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/64970-how-elephant-cacti-work/#findComment-728751 Share on other sites
magia
Withered cactus is dig-able and gives you plant item you can plant on ash turf. I brought it to RoG world for butterfly farm, I have yet to decide if it's worthwhile. Edit Butterfly farm works like a charm.
