unfloodable flooring?

I think only "civilised" turfs will do. You know, boarding, carpet, cobble, marble.

I've had puddles form on checkered flooring and carpet.  Seems like puddles won't start on SW crafted flooring(wooden floor, snakeskin rug, cobblestone) as I haven't seen puddles start on them.  Puddles will spill over on to ANY type of flooring.

Yeah, this is how it works. Puddles won't outright spawn on crafted flooring, but they will spread onto it given enough time to do so.

It means that your base will flood at some point if you covered it with crafted flooring, but it'll take a bit longer..

You can stop flooding entirely on your base island if you cover the entire thing with wooden flooring or something, as no puddles will spawn at all. This could be a good idea if you have a small island near your Base, which you could use as a flood-proof sanctuary for Monsoon Season.
