Hey @Ryuugen welcome to the forums. The dedicated server setup process is currently undergoing an overhaul. Here's a guide that the devs posted.

I haven't personally tried it yet but that guide is the only guide that exists right now for the new setup process. Good luck, cheers.

I'm having the very same problem.

Followed all steps to the letter, even re-generated a new key (my server used to run just fine before this BS change) and all it does now is only to complain about a missing token.

So I say meh, there's enough games that just work, going to play those instead.

Hi @Ryuugen @TheHellcat

strange because TheNet:GenerateClusterToken() works perfectly for me

you are on Windows? Linux? Mac OS X?

when you make TheNet:GenerateClusterToken() you have error in console?

and you he don't generate cluster_token.txt here: Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\cluster_token.txt?

do you have also try this for having cluster_token:

I have no problem getting the token, actually I got two now because, as I said, I generated a new one thinking the old ones maybe just don't work for the new server versions.

I named it server_token.txt, cluster_token.txt put it in pretty much every subdirectory in my config root dir, stripped trailing linebreaks, added windows linebreak, added linux linebreak....

I am sure I could find what exactly the issue is, I just can't be bothered, I don't feel like fixing messups they made while changing the whole server configuration stuff.

Maybe I'll try again during the weekend.

Hi @Ruskimo

can you give more information please?

where is your cluster_token.txt on your Debian 8?

how you have take your token? with TheNet:GenerateClusterToken() ? or in account info of your game?

hi @ToNiO55,

I stored cluster_token.txt in

  • ~/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether/MyDediServer/cluster_token.txt

And I've used the token that was generated from account info.
