Snake Den Upgrades

Recommended Posts

I imagine Snakes as pretty much, spiders, but with more that spawn.

The comparison is even easier to make as both of their second tier enemies apply poison.

That is why I want their dens to "upgrade" themselves like Spider Dens do.

To make them more unique, their dens could change/evolve because of the seasons, and the skin and drops from each season's snakes would help for that season.

Say, Hurricane Snake Skin would be used for a sail that would make strong winds push you less.

Dry Snake Skin would delay overheating when turned into some unique jacket.

While I think it would be great to have diversity, having more skin types would be annoying, since you have to wait for said season to farm them. But they could have an additional drop or difference in percentage of X drop over another.

for example, normal snakes are like they are now. Hurricane snakes could be faster, and have more chance to drop skin over monster meat. Monsoons snakes could have more health or act like a frog and pull stuff out of your inventory, and drop more monster meat. Dry season snakes could burn you and heat you up, and drop additional ashes.

Maybe there could be some way to keep a den in its seasonal state once it reached it? Say, if you dig up a snake den(which would also be different from a vine bush) during Dry Season, it'll stay that way.

But that would kill the point, and also force you to stick to only that kind of den, as you are unable to change it

True.

I still think they should have some unique extra drop based on the season. But your ideas are also a good direction.

A unique drop is ok, as long as it doesn't take the place of the skin. It could be an additional skin though, like a 25% change to get one along with the other drop

Additional would be the way to go then.

Wish I was a modder and could add this, but hey, early access. maybe mods won't be needed for this

Hey, one can always try! There are some easy to follow tutorials you can find in the mods section
