Possible Bug: Can't Cook Coconuts after last update

Recommended Posts

Yeah ever since the last update, I can harvest coconuts. I wave them over the fire or fire pit and nothing. I can drop them, examine them, but no option to cook. Which isn't great for Maxwell for Day 2 after all the berries and lamprey have been harvested.

Playing on WinX/FF. No prefabs/console command being used. Is this my having a "dur" moment or an actual bug in the beta?

Ahhh. Was not so up until the last update. Thanks!

Yup! No problem, lots of people ran into confusion with this, you're not alone ^^

I only know because I read every last change the new update made before giving it a try. The nice thing is now coconuts are more worth eating because you get two of them when you hack them. Before I felt like it was kinda wasteful since coconuts were on the "hard-to-farm" side for me

i'm not able to open the coconuts with the machete (using controller, not mouse).  anyone else have this issue?  could be a mod though, i haven't tried disabling them all yet.

Which Controller are you using?

I've got an Xbox controller and I'm given the option to hack coconuts by dropping them on the ground and pressing the "B" button. (The one used for digging things up or burning them down with the appropriate tools.)

i had since figured it out, but thanks for the tip anyway.  i was trying to do it inside the inventory like you do with keyboard and mouse.  i had been switching controls back to K&M, hacking the coconuts, then switching back to controller until i finally dropped some on the ground figured it out by accident.
