Dracian
Hi guys, I came across some changes that were not documented in the change log. I'm thinking about bugs, but I'm not sure : - Killer bees and Cocoguards seem to have their speed buffed to hell. It's almost impossible to break the chase now. BTW, Cocoguards seem to still have the infinite melee range bug. - Seafood gumbo requires 2.5 fish tags while it needed only 1.5 before the update. Can be seen in the game files (...\Data\DLC0002\scripts\preparedfoods.lua) : seafoodgumbo = { test = function(cooker, names, tags) return tags.fish and tags.fish > 2 end, priority = 10, foodtype = "MEAT", health = TUNING.HEALING_LARGE, hunger = TUNING.CALORIES_LARGE, perishtime = TUNING.PERISH_MED, sanity = TUNING.SANITY_MEDLARGE, cooktime = 1, }, With the recent reduction of fish values of many ingredients, it's far more difficult to do that recipe. - Some Wildbores attacked me after picking their manure after giving them berries. I'm pretty sure they did not act like that before. Hoping all of these are bugs Cheers guys ! EDIT : completely forgot that one : - Sliced Coconut can't be put in the Crock Pot. Full and cooked can though. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/63824-undocumented-changes-or-bugs/ Share on other sites
TwitcheryGamer
Maybe the halved Coconut isn't supposed to be used in the crock pot. If you could, you would be essentially be able to double your coconuts if they counted as a coconut per half. Also, for sea food gumbo, if you just get 4 fish and put them in the crock pot, it will make that. imo it's pretty easy if you have a consistent twig source (ie enough twigs to last basicalyl foreever) and spiders for the fishing rod. One thing that still bothers me that if you tick off a Wildbore, it will chase you forever. That's happened since the game came out. If you annoy one, you gotta kill it. Yeah, you could leave the island adn then come back, but that takes so much time if your boat is on the other side of the island compared to the bores. For reals, can we have the Wildbores cool down after a while and get tired after all that charging? But now you go raw -> halved -> cooked, and cooked goes in the crockpot and is still doubled with respect to raw. A bit more work to cook, though. But yeah, gumbo is a lot harder to make, as is surf and turf now. Seems like bisque (health) + banana pops (sanity) + meatballs/bacon and eggs are the go-to foods now. Surf and turf can be done if you have tropical fish, raw fish, or dog fish, but those are all more work to gather in general. Edit: The main outstanding crock pot oddity in my opinion is that you still can't put cooked or dead wobsters in it. Lobster Dinner and Lobster Bisque both call for live lobster, which I'm fine with, but it seems like you ought to be able to put dead/cooked ones in for ingredient values, at least. Fledge
The nerfed fish values mean that 4 crabs in a crock pot now make wet goop. That just does NOT make any sense at all; boiling up crabs in a pot of water is one of the most basic recipes, probably as old as mankind itself (at least since we discovered fire) so it should make something. Same really with fistfuls of limpets or mussels; in the original game, almost anything edible repeated in the pot would always turn out something, even if it totalled less than the sum of the ingredients as cooked over a fire (fistful of jam, ratatouille, meatballs...) Oddly, eggs didn't follow this rule, leaving the game at a sad loss for scrambled eggs or omelette! I vote for them either 1) raising the value of a live crab back to 1, similar to the tropical fish. I don't get why tropical fish have such a high value in the first place, when the vanilla game fish is less, and most tropical fish are so small! Or 2) Maybe they were figuring crabs are easy to get, like rabbits, so shouldn't provide such a high food value, but then they should lower the reqs for gumbo accordingly. Make it require 2 fish and then you can fill your crock pot with whatever fishy stuff you can find and harmony will be restored. So in summary either raise (live) crab value to 1 or lower gumbo reqs to 2. I think the second tweak would work best so that a full crock pot wouldn't keep churning out wet goop. Because with the benefit of Webber, I can create fishing rods and then fish for quite a while, at least 2 gumbo is made by the end of the day. It's helpful, but I can see it's harder for some other characters. 13 minutes ago, Fledge said: The nerfed fish values mean that 4 crabs in a crock pot now make wet goop. I never used Crabs in the crock pot. Actually, I notice they're there, in the world, but I ignore that they can be used for food. I tend to hunt. But yeah, that's super weird.
