Imagine having a lobby like cs go or civ5, where you can invite friends and then start the world instead of starting the world and inviting friends. 

Pros

  • You can get more established and choose who's gonna play what for strategic advantages
  • More organized as roles can be preassigned
  • Everyone starts at the same time, giving no advantage to any one
  • lots more.. i guess......

Cons

  • None
  • No cons.. that's right... my idea is flawless       :love-struck:

Well...  How would this be implemented?  Would there be a screen whenever the world reloads that lasts a certain time?  Would there be a new button added to the start menu that says Lobby, where you can meet your friends and all join a server at the same time?  How would the server be chosen?

 

The problem with this is the kind of game DST is.  It's not a round based thing, where playtimes last about 20 minutes, then you return to lobby and load a new map.  You spawn into a new randomly generated world every time it resets, not every time a game is completed.

 

There's already a lobby of a sort in the character select screen, so you can all start at the same time, talk about strats, ect.  It just
