Shiprekt Meta

So I have been a dont starve fan since the first game and loved them all. When I found out about shiprekt I was so happy only to find out its way to hard. I mean I dont like easy games by any stretch of the imagination and I loved dont starve because of being a challenge. But, shiprekt in spring and in sumer ruins the game. It turns into a grind to get sndbags and running around the island to prevent flooding. And sumer is a (crap)storm of either wasting your time in a boat or runing the landscape on land. ROG got the seasons right, something a little annoying to try to kill you, not game breaking. I know its in early acess and all, but seriously consider nerfing the seasons in shiprekt. I find myself stop playing the game time after time because every day is so precious. In ROG you could waste days on days doing nothing and still be relitivily ok, but in shiprekt every second matters only to have to waste ~20 days for summer. At least nerf summer so you can still be at your base. I saw on reddit a way to "appease" the valcano gods. Maybe that would be nice. Like you have to craft something to not have meteors for ~5 days? For me my record is 30 days and i think i will stop untill the full release comes out.

Ps pardon my bad english,

I have the contrary impression. I find the seasons in this game way more enjoyable than the ones in ROG. In ROG you had two mechanics that would punish exploration. In winter you had to pretty much chill at your base. Same in summer. And spring would increase plant growth so much that it feels like a waste to not be harvesting in your base constantly.

In SW on the other hand it feels that a lot of the mechanics encourage a more nomadic way of playing. The "winter" isn't punishing you for roaming around.

The general aboundance of food and other ressources combined with the very low threat-level makes you pretty much capable of spending your time however you want. You just have to make sure to hit the ocean every two days for some seaweed and musels.

So I would argue that SW rewards a different style of playing. And if you go with it everything falls into ist place. Even the volcano season isn't so bad if you are not sitting in your base but spending the time to find trasures and other valubales. Or better yet hanging around those anooying monkies so the volcano takes care of them ;)

If you have each usefull ressource for straight survival(wood, grass, twigs, flint), you can just take a good boat and roam around the ocean gathering only few ressources needed to repair the boat/make new sails/seasonal gear and eat. What do you need else? As Walani would probably say : Keep cool and take that wave!

Remember that bioluminescence is free perma light at night
