Donax
It seems that we are surrounded by water but we cannot get refreshed by it directly which i think is weird. During all the seasons, getting soaked is a huge bother since it's draining our sanity quickly, but in summer it should at least get us safe from overheating. It wouldn't be OP because our boat is still getting damaged in the process and we would still have our sanity drained quickly. Crashing into waves will certainly still won't be the best option to survive heat in summer as it would be very costly for the repairs but at least it would be a nice last resort option. Fledge
Hear, hear! Also you shouldn't have to go out in a boat, just standing around being wet ought to lower overheating (you can step into the tide line for this!) mitboy
I'm pretty sure wetness already protects you from heat, just nor as much as you might want. Ryla
I like this idea. By getting soaked by the waves you would be sacrificing sanity (which drops quickly when wet) for protection from overheating. CameoAppearance
Wetness already does lower your body temperature, which is what allows you to die from freezing in RoG Spring after getting caught in a rainstorm. That's not a problem on a tropical island, but it increases in proportion to how soggy you are and the maximum (at 100% Wetness) is 30 degrees lower than the ambient temperature, so you have to get really soaked for it to help. Overheating begins at 65 degrees and becomes damaging at 70 degrees; I think the hottest you can get is 80 degrees. Increasing the amount it can cool you or the level of wetness where it has a substantial cooling effect is a reasonable suggestion for Shipwrecked by itself, but it would be complicated to integrate into the main game when you can travel between the two locations; it would make spring a fair bit deadlier in Reign of Giants, especially as a starting season.
