J20hawkz Posted November 8, 2015 Share Posted November 8, 2015 I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to have special events during Halloween, Christmas etc... Say for example during Halloween our world gets a ghostly aura atmospheric effect, with zombie themed monsters of current monsters in game. Spooky(er) music can play during the night. In winter we can have blankets of snow cover our world. Every monster on the map wears a red Christmas cap. The Pig Kig can be dressed up as Santa etc... Just simple little things. Events can go live a week before the special day and last a few days after. Rewards such as unique skins and tools/gear can be acquired for those who took part in the event. If anyone has some other ideas for special calendar days/events please share them below. Bonfire night, Thanks Giving, Easter holiday. Maybe even days like Cyber Monday or Black Friday. It will be more of a Gobbler killing frenzy day! You gotta defeat them all by daybreak. Succeed and theres a 50% chance drop for a Krampus sack per player. Fail, and there is a consequence. T^T Heck yeah my 100th post, I'm a member now!!! Technically any suggestion ever made or will be made can be done as a mod, depending on the Modders capabilities and the resources available to them. If that were the case we would never have DLC or any form of "added" content to any game made. No disrespect to our community Modders or any Modders out there. The work you guys do is amazing. If the actual game developers do it, to me it feels just that bit more special. Events like the ones we are suggesting here, I believe should be considered and done by Klei. Official announcements can be posted, everyone joining the game on the day each event goes live, can take part without the need for searching around for specific mods. Klei could also throw in cheeky rare drops like themed skins for our characters, or even themed skins of current ingame tools. Just imagine a reapers death scythe skin for the default Axe as a super rare drop for Halloween. Or reindeer skinned beefalo hats as a drop during a Christmas event. Yeah we can get all these as mods but then what's the point of taking part in an event, getting a lucky drop, to have everyone else have the same thing but as a mod? Think of it as a quality seal of a approval on Klei's behalf I hope I haven't offended anyone, it's just my honest and humble opinion on Mods and official content by game developers.
