CameoAppearance Posted October 28, 2015 Share Posted October 28, 2015 I accidentally caught it on fire because I was foolish enough to fight Red Hounds near it (also lost a berry bush). Will it respawn somewhere else if it gets destroyed, or is it placed at worldgen and then gone forever if you break it? He's like a worse pig king, only available again after days, often dropping useless flint and taunting you with "Fair trade!". Feathers would be the only benefit, but even then, it's easy to get some bird traps and seeds. If the boat spawns somewhere convenient he can be downright lucrative in Adventure Mode given that I'm already fishing every piece of flotsam I see. (A few twigs and 2 silk in exchange for a random assortment of boat trinkets, grass, logs, twigs or boards is a hell of a good deal, and on top of all that you can also use the fishing rod to catch fish!) And in Sandbox Mode -- which is where this mishap with the fire took place -- I usually have plenty of rocks to mine and regular trinkets to trade so I'm not hard up for gold, but I can always use more red feathers and gems. Especially the gems, because my other options are gravedigging (finite supply), spelunking (dangerous), and hound waves (also dangerous and the drop rate makes it tedious). ...I didn't even know Wolly would accept regular trinkets until I checked the exchange values on the wiki just now. (I thought he only took flotsam trinkets and meats.) I'll agree with you about that not being the best use for those, at least. as for the berry bush, yeah, it was tragic. Also burned a bunch of trees (which are still standing there all charcoal'd because my backyard is full of treeguards) and probably some saplings and grass tufts but I have enough that I didn't really miss those. The boat used to be almost right in my base, before it caught fire. It was very convenient right up until it wasn't.
