This annoys me alot since i am on day 1000+ and building a mega base and i get big frame drops when i'm on low sanity or when it starts to rain. It will stay at whatever framerate it is at then do a big jump. Kinda annoying visually. Without Vsync, you may experience half a frame placed over the previous one, but if you're not that subconsiously smart, it will just be more FPS. Generally speaking, it's the first generic graphics option to disable if lag occurs. Of course special graphic options should usually be considered before that, for instance the sanity distortion of DS.
