Dedicated Lan Server Cave

Hello all,

 

I was setting up a master and cave server yesterday.

Since we are playing with evolvehq -normal gameplay was lagging for us- we played DST in lan mode.

 

Now I have two server settings files.

 

Master settings.ini

With active "dedicated_lan_server = true" inside the master I can connect in lan mode, but the slave and master do not connect to each other.

If a deactive "dedicated_lan_server = false" they connect.

I tried setting both settings.ini's to lan_only_server which didn't help.

 

Does anyone came across a solution?

@K213: I could be wrong, but I think your master's settings.ini is missing/needs changes to the following:

  • steam_authentication_port, steam_master_server_port must be uniquely different from the values of other ports
  • server_port must be different value from the master_port

Edit these and let me know if it works, if not post the log for the master server. Cheers.

Maybe it's too late, but as Zillvr said:

 

@K213: I could be wrong, but I think your master's settings.ini is missing/needs changes to the following:

  • steam_authentication_port, steam_master_server_port must be uniquely different from the values of other ports
  • server_port must be different value from the master_port

Edit these and let me know if it works, if not post the log for the master server. Cheers.

 

 

Looking at the config you are using on the Master server, you've set the SAME port for both the server port AND the Shard port:

This doesn't work like this...

Shard port have to be different from the server port.

 

Change them and try again.
