If that feeling of vulnerability and nervousness was what Klei was going for I'd say they achieved it, and of course finishing it is a pretty great feeling. Having to start the entire thing over on death is still pretty brutal though, but again, the feeling you get upon reaching Maxwell (and the reward) is pretty awesome. The further along you get, the more scared you are of losing that progress due to a stupid frog or bee. I want to try finishing again and do better but I feel so drained right now. It's like a college entrance exam that way. But yeah, in all due seriousness, that moment when I found the final chess biome in Darkness was...unreal. After weeks of work, I felt really accomplished having finally conquered the game!...And then I saw the "ending". I felt so angry that I had avoided spoilers for months, only to have the ending be such a terrible payoff!
