How exactly do you blend colors into an item?

I am extremely confused on how you would blend colors into an item, if you look at monster meat or a hambat, it has multiple shades of colors obviously, and not just one, but whenever I try to do this it just looks horrible. Any tips for designing/drawing items/weapons?

Are you talking about art or the spoilage tile? The latter is applied in-game.

I'd say it would depend on how you're creating the art.  Are you doing this digitally or physically and then scanning the art?

Nevermind, I figured it out after many hours of frustration of me being an idiot and not even thinking of it. I am not an artistic person.

I'd go ahead and say I spent about a total of 6 hours trying to figure it out.
