Take away the Map, give us a compass instead

What about a compass that works in conjunction with the map? I was thinking that once you had the compass you could set waypoints on the portions of the map you had already explored, with a compass icon that spun to point you towards your waypoint.

Please don't take away the map! I like it! The map works fine. I don't want a compass. I can't imagine playing this game without a map.

Well the general suggestion was that players start off with a compass, however after you acquire papyrus and charcoal you can craft a map, then you'll get the map you have right now. It was suggested as a way to include the map in the whole survival experience.I certainly wouldn't want to eliminate the map forever... that would be crazy!

So yeah the title pretty much says it all, i love how hard the game is and i figured that having a math was just to easy so why not give us a compass so that we know where we are without having to use a map? (maybe make the map craftable)

I get lost in a paper bag in my own backyard in real life, and I also get lost in paper bags in fictional characters backyards in games. I really need that map!

Try playing without map and draw your own IRL. I already did that, it's pretty cool.
