Believe in the cheese hat... made from Volt Goat Milk, butter, and straw hat... an edible armor that does not have durability but spoils... serve with hambat for deliciousness...

I definitly think the merm-pig war thing should be part of Through the Ages in some way.
Maybe it starts like it normally is with those random set pieces and maybe merms get
real villages and not just scattered houses and maybe some kinda king/queen
(but you can't trade with it because merms are hostile). Around a specific time,
maybe day 50, they start to fight. Maybe both slowly start to wander and build little camps towards
the villages of the others, maybe including walls, houses and pig warriors that are friendly
towards normal pigs (and something like that for merms) and destroying/killing hostile things on the way.
The merms could possibly also try to occupy the players bases if they are in their way. If then one of those
reaches a village of the others, they could make a little base and build more houses and the inhabitants of
the village start to build walls and traps. And after a few days, the battle starts and the attackers
try to destroy the others houses by punching. Also, in this case the drops should be extremly reduced,
because otherwise there would be a lot of pork and fish for the players to collect. The victims could may
later try to recapture and rebuild their villages.
Just some ideas and there are still some shortcomings, like the world could get spammed with little camps.
