Where are the Giants?

If you did not alter anything in the setting, aka everything is in its default set up, then the spawning will be "random". I say random because I'm having a headache and can't come up with a better word to describe @_@. It just means they will spawn in some game years and won't in some. In my Wilson RoG "default" save, it took me about 304 game days before I get to see the first ever Beardger. Still very luckily no Dragonflies at this moment.

If you really want the giants to come every year/season, you should set the spawn set up to "Lots" before you play a new game.

i really dont want to.. i barely do well at the game without them..  i cant handle them.. i just wanted to know to get prepared against them

Well, you can say in advance because you'll hear them grunt or squeak or something. You'll also see a paw flying at you before they attack you. Sarcasm throughout the whole ni-i-iiight

But If you want to really know when to prepare for them: always. asap.

Relax, don't do it, when you want them to come.

No rly, try "more", "lots" allows them to spawn in other seasons too.

Yes, yes, "more" . I never mess with the set up that I forgot about it -.- (it was 4 AM when I posted that too, so dizziness all the way @_@)

This s is how I do in my early days. When giant is approaching, I run to the wormhole that is quite far from my base. When it spawns, jump into the wormhole. Now, that giant will be at your wormhole for the season.

As the fame progresses, you will be able to build a lot of pig houses and spider dens to farm werepigs for meat and tails. Make yourself a ham bat and football heltmet, and log suit. Football helmet + log suit will really make you lose no Health when wearing it (proven with Wilson on all bosses except Dragonfly). You also need at least 15 Jerkies for a boss battle (this is my standard amount for hunting Deerclops). Meanwhile, enjoy your time when no giants come, and practice kiting.

IMO, the most irritating giant for me is the Beardger. Not only that there will be a time where I can't kite him at all (his AoE "stomp" + "swipe" attack), his AoE can also break stuff that I don't want it to break, like firecamps.

If you want, I can post a pic of my (unfinished) arena for giant fights.
