magicalpopsical
I'm thinking about buying the new dlc and i was wondering if all my friends need to the dlc too. Odinfrom
The dlc is not in DST. DST is a different game (but they probably will add all the RoG stuff on DST little by little, need some time). So no, your friends don't need the dlc, since DST can't use the DLC. Pyromailmann
Everyone needs the DLC. But it's not required right now. Most of the RoG Content is available even if you don't own it right now. Actually, Seth has been saying the idea is that DST will basically have RoG content throughout eventually, with a world customization preset that resembles vanilla. Those with RoG will be able to pick Wigfrid/Webber, and those without it will not, but both can play together on the same worlds. Those with RoG will be able to pick Wigfrid/Webber, and those without it will not, but both can play together on the same worlds. You mean that only host needs RoG while everyone else who joins doesn't have to have it? And how exactly this character select would work? If host would start the server and then DLC-owning player join would he/she be able to pick Webber/Wigfrid and in the opposite?IMO only RoG owners would be able to join RoG servers. You know, so the newbies won't die from wetness or starve to death as Wigfrid asking "WHY I CAN'T EAT THOSE BERRIES?!!!". rezecib
You mean that only host needs RoG while everyone else who joins doesn't have to have it No, as in DST will be RoG by default, regardless of whether you have RoG or not. Regardless of which server you're on, you can pick Webber/Wigfrid if you have RoG, and can't otherwise. But just because Seth has said that is the current thinking doesn't mean it won't change. RoG is in a bit of an awkward position, because a system like that (or like what you describe) would make it an inter-game DLC, which I'm not sure there's precedent for and not sure it can be handled nicely by Steam (e.g. what about people who have only DST? Could they get RoG for DST, and then later have it apply to DS if they get it, as well?)
