HOWEVER, if you own the game, you receive an additional 75% off. This makes the game only $5 for two copies. This causes a problem however, since you can not buy a copy of a game you already own. I may be wrong, though and it might just be some rare bug, but this didn't happen in her account, so it's not a constant issue at least. ryouryou Posted December 25, 2014 Share Posted December 25, 2014 If you only own DS, you get the promotion for $5, and you do not get DS, you only get the two beta keys for DST. If you already own all of it, you can not buy the discount pack as a gift. This is because the discount pack is a loyalty reward for members that have Don't Starve, and if you gifted it, others could exploit that by gifting it (for $5) to people who do not already own Don't Starve and would thus have to pay the full $20 if they bought it themselves, leading to no one actually buying it for $20, and instead finding people to buy it for them for $5, hypothetically.That is why it is a Steam policy that you can not gift games that are discounted because you already own another game. The recipient can not be verified to own it and they consider it exploitative. This is a Steam policy, like I said, and Klei can not do anything about it. The code will look something like XXXX-YYYY-ZZZZ-AAAA-BBBB. Your friend also has to have a steam account, and they will be able to add it using the +ADD A GAME button on steam's client at the bottom left of the screen. We don't know how to give the extra copy to Son #2. We haven't received a code via email and it doesn't appear under gifts or anything under Son #1's account. Just to rule out the possibility (before I give up and say "I don't know :("), you purchased the frontier pack from Son #1's account, and are now checking Son #1's account by, on his copy of Steam, clicking on the little envelope icon in the upper-right, then "x new items in your inventory", and then clicking on the Steam icon (among icons for other games-- in my case Dota 2 and a few others), and then searching "Together"? If it's not there, then it seems there really was a problem. Steam support would be the place to go, although I know they aren't known for being timely...
