Stone Walls and Hounds

Hi! I'm dying to know- if you build a stone wall/fort around your camp with only a tiny space to squeeze in, can they still get inside?

Yup - eventually. They'll gnaw at the walls until they finally break enough for them to pass through and gnaw at your bones.

The Hound will aim at you first and if they can't reach you or catch your speed, they will attack anything with health near by, including all the walls.

So walls aren't great measure against Hound attacks.

Thanks for the replies! I found the Panic Room post in the Don't Starve game wiki btw. I can't tell you how happy I was when these hell hounds went belly up and *died* after triggering my fine tooth traps. OH YEAH

Stone walls can actually be a fairly good measure since hounds still usually go for the most direct

route to you, meaning a narrow entrance limits the number of angles they can ambush you from.

Also if you have a ranged weapon or outside defenses such as pigs or bunnymen, a fairly strong

wall should hold them off for the time it takes to kill most or all of them.
