potato thing spawn place

it is very weird because i always find this thing  and want to build my base there but it is always in a horrible possision. there is never something good near it . does it always spawns at bad places?

Nope: its spawn is completely random, though it seems to spawn more often in swamps and forests for me.

The potato farm spawns on the same branch as the swamp and a forest. It is possible that branch spawned next to the savanna branch though.

When you really stop and look at it, the Potato Thing setpiece really isn't that impressive.  A few carrots, a few twig shrubs, a few tufts of grass and 3 basic farms.  The only thing of any real value is the cobblestone, and it's easily relocated with a pitchfork.

A savanna with tons of grass and holes is still better as a base. Don't build your base near the potato thingy.

Because there are alternatives that are much more beneficial.

Because, as you said, it's in a bad place. If you get it in a good place, then place it there.

 

Everything there can be relocated very easily:

• Farm : Use a hammer (you get half the resources back), then build a new one (besides, Improved Farms are better)
• Saplings : Use a shovel (although there are lots of this everywhere)
• Grass Tufts : Use a shovel (...), then add manure
