So tired of this bullshit.

do you have to make new stone walls everytime you collect? Also, do you have issues with summer burning your entire flower farm

Or without mods you can make one wall made out of grass. You can hit it with a spear to open it, go in, and if you want to close the "door", use one grass to repair it.

Edit: Oh, didn't see Nakoel already mentioned it. But my suggestion here is to use one grass wall. Even cheaper. =D

Hope it helps, enjoy :-)

Thanks for the guide! I will probably build up one for myself.

May I suggest two passive varieties of a butter farm?

1. Place a huge flower field in the middle of a beefalo group. While they are in heat and during the whole spring they will deliver free butterfly wings and butter for the summer. This is recommended for a passive use of butter and isn't productive at all in a walled off area. However if you are having a beefalo pen you can transform it into a beefalo pen with a little butter production.

2. Hound trail. Since hounds are super aggressive and fast, they are ideal for hunting down butterflies. However they will in most cases attack you too. To make use of them place a ring of flowers quite a distance away from your hound mounds so that the flowers are out of the aggro-range of the hounds. The hounds will start to attack the butterflies who are randomly flying around and will return to the mound after the butterfly is dead. Now you can go and collect your food.

Both ideas sound nice, but keep in mind that you will need to cover the flower camps with a lightning rod and a Ice Flingomatic.

I would probably try the beefalo pen idea, if you test it today tell us if it works, first if the beefalos chase the butterflies and second if they eat the butter.

About the hounds, in my current maps they are far from my base, hostile, dunno if they eat butter, i would have to build a lightning rod there, i would have to build and maintain an Ice Flingomatic too, probably not for me, but try it and share the results :-)

A lightning rod would be useful but as this form of farming butter covers a huge area and isn't very productive, I wouldn't recommend to protect it with an ice flingomatic. Since the main production of the beefalo variety is in spring the flingomatic is mostly useless.

Beefalo in heat attack everything, including bees, butterflies, catcoons, birds, moles etc. . Unlike pigs beefalo are not able to eat at all. So butterfly wings and butter are just rotting on the ground.

Hounds are very special but suit to it in many ways once you have a reachable hound mound. Firstly they only can eat meats so they let the wings and the butter alone and secondly they are getting pulled away from their mound so you can hunt them one by one without fighting against the whole pack. Better see it as a mixed farm with very little effort.

As already mentioned I don't recommend the use of a flingomatic especially for the hounds. You need to cover a huge area otherwise if you plant the flowers too dense the hounds will get locked in the flowerfield and won't return to their mound. So a simple "safety" distance between the flowers is solving the fire problem. Let one flower burn down is far more inexpensive than maintaining multiple flingomatics.

Actually, nobody was warned. A general reminder was posted on the thread and insults were removed.

I am sorry that you feel singled out, but as you are aware, yours were not the only posts removed.

Nobody is allowed to insult anybody else, regardless of context or reason. So, posts containing insults or personal attacks were taken down rather than locking your thread.
