How can i reset controlsetting on pc

Recommended Posts

Start a new game, after Maxwell gives you his speech and disappears, press escape to open the menu. Select the controls option and fix what needs to be fixed. Good luck and let me know if it worked for you.

Dude, no offense, but he can't click...

I had a brain fart. Sorry bout that. Thanks to Mobbstar for pointing that out.

So if you can go into the game save location.... Documents, Klei, DoNotStarve you should see a file titled settings. Delete that and it should work. If that doesn't do it, I would back all the way out to "Documents" and delete the Klei folder completely. You will lose any saved games you have and any unlocked characters but you should at least be able to have your keyboard and mouse settings to default.

I definitely try to just delete the Settings save first tho. Let me know if that works!

No problem. :p

I haven't found any keybindings in the settings.ini, but maybe because I play on default keybindings, and the game doesn't bother saving a copy of them.

Yeah, delete the whole folder if all else fails as above, but you can save the games/character unlocks by copying the files and restoring them  as per here. Note you may have to create a new game in the slot you transferred the save game to, but it should restore once the game loads. Remember to UNCHECK THE SYNC WITH THE STEAM CLOUD option on steam if playing on that though (and recheck it once you replace the files again.)
