I completely agree... eventually you reach a point where you can choose to have fun (Fight bosses, explore caves, etc.) or live forever (Stand by your fire, pacify a farming area) . Even the weekly hound attack is more a resource then a danger. Of course, the fun is in the gradient between those exstreams. Though, I shouldn't talk because i only made it as far as i did because of ~[10,13) meat effigies.
