Talavaj
Simple as that, it seems to be a functional filler which makes winter survival absolutely trivial because of ever respawning pengull nests. (1x monster meat + 3x ice = meatball)Make it turn dishes into wet goop if used more than once, just like twigs do.Breaking down about 3~4 nests and getting about 15~20 monster meat pretty much takes care of food for the entire winter. DwerBomb
Yea sure, eat all the ice. You will regret it when summer comes. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/35859-nerf-ice/#findComment-469299 Share on other sites
GalloViking
Nerf twigs, you can cook with it too: 3 twigs + dragon fruit = dragon pie. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/35859-nerf-ice/#findComment-469313 Share on other sites
Talavaj
Eyebrella, Chilled Amulet, Luxury Fans, Umbrellas, Thermal Stones and Melon Hats are all either superior or more readily available alternatives to prevent overheating than ice and ice cube is while Ice Staff and Luxury fan are superior (and arguably cheaper per-use) alternatives for preventing fires than ice is.This leaves the flingomatic as the only item requiring ice actually worth crafting, for which the ice coming from world generation is usually enough. The exploitative potential are the pengull nests, which because of the spawning mechanics in winter can grant you literally hundreds of ice chunks per winter.Dragon pie requires dragon fruit, which takes a lot of micro and farms/time to farm in a sustainable fashion.Ice however seems to be a legit filler for anything, which means you can also craft a fist full of jam with one berry, rattatouile with one carrot, honey ham with one honey and one monster meat and so on. NeoDeusMachina
Yea sure, eat all the ice. You will regret it when summer comes. That's only true if you haven't been through your first summer yet, or if you haven't built any of the summer related structures/items. To be honest with you, I go through summer without using a single piece of ice, I prefer running around with a cool thermal stone, a summer frest/hawaiian shirt, and straw hat! I built a lot of ice flingomatics in the first year, though. I have 2 ice cubes in my camps, but I never use them. I do agree with the OP that putting more than 1 ice in a crock pot should turn the food into wet goop, because the ice melts and turn into water and you end up with a soup (at best)?. As the developpers don't seem to have any plans to add any further new things (such as a soup recipe), then wet goop seems the easiest solution! Seriously, why didn't anyone suggest a soup recipe when it was still time? xD Eating a good hot soup is so comforting, it could have given a good sanity boost! I guess the closest we got is "Hot Chili", although I sure wish they would add a saltine recipe to go with it...
