Is there still lots of game options?

Recommended Posts

Since I'm a noob at this game I still am not very good at surviving. I was wondering, if I bought RoG will I be able to disable overheating/summer, rain, giants and other things that are added for experienced players and just play with new biomes and items for now? Or is there no option to turn that stuff off since it's the "meat" of the DLC?

As I understand this is a DLC for pros so it's MUCH more difficult since even the weather wants to kill you now! I'm not ready for that spike in difficulty and I'm probably dozens of hours away but I still want to play around with new stuff minus the stuff that wants to kill me!

The options are pretty extensive. You can lower/increase the frequency of something, or simply remove it. Giants can be disabled, I believe some seasons can be disabled in certain sets. Rain can be lowered/disabled. Overheating itself can not be disabled, but you can turn off the wildfires that it causes.

Yes, it does mostly up the difficulty, although there are some general changes as well.

However... since it's currently in beta, many of the world gen options to configure these things are not currently working quite right.

Makes me sad though that turning off wildfires and frog rain does not work right now.
