Dont Starve 3DS

It would be interesting, but it seems it would be hard to do since a deal with Nintendo would have to be made and whatnot. Extreme gameplay alternations would no doubt have to be made--and it might not live up to the original and just serve to disappoint.

I think you're underestimating Nintendo, they clearly want Indie developers on their systems.

A Wii U version of the game seems to be more realistic, and it would most likely live up to the original. A 3DS version would probably sell better than the Vita, but the graphics would be downgraded, considering the system is not as powerful as the Vita. They did create one game for the Nintendo DS, which was the critically acclaimed N+.

Yes, Nintendo does want indie developers, but I'm sure they are looking for more permanent and exclusive titles instead of just rereleasing a game that many people wouldn't want to rebuy--that is the main issue they appear to be dealing with.

They want companies and developers that would focus on developing games for their systems only, but they appear to be in short supply.

Anyway, I'm all for different versions of the game, especially if it guarantees the life span of the game is longer and stronger--a bigger fanbase couldn't hurt either. I wasn't aware Nintendo was worked with in the past so it could be possible.

Oh, and I wouldn't underestimate the graphics of a 3DS. From what I have seen in the Pokemon games and such, it can render 3-D models just fine, so the 2-D style of DS might not be too hard to manage.

However, the engine and coding of the game might simply not allow for a port, seeing how the PS4 version still has so many limitations compared to PC.

Around how much would it cost to get DS on another console anyway?

Oh what?? PS4 version has "so many" limitations? I wasn't aware of that. (Could you elaborate on that? Thanks)

For the Wii U, it wouldn't be too much. Switch some codes here and there, implement the gamepad features, etc.

For the 3DS.. They would have to rework the coding, and lower the quality of the graphics.. Put more double screen features, etc. I'm assuming the 3DS version would be more expensive, but it would probably sell more than the Vita or Wii U.

Well, I'm not an expert on modifying games into different versions so I will have to take your word for it--still, I'm sure the biggest issue would be scoring a fair deal in the first place. I recall that getting DS to the PS4 was a challenge and only possible because Sony was looking for as many games for the new system as possible--the Wii U has already been out longer, so it all depends if Nintendo is looking for known games or completely original titles--I don't know.

Oh, and by limitations, the PS4 version gets updates far less frequently, the interference is not as fluid as the PC and controls can be jumpy, bugs solved on the PC still are prevalent on the console version last I understood--and of course, there is the exclusion of mods, however, that is always PC exclusive.

Also, I don't think the DLC is out yet, but I could be wrong. It's just that the console version is the last priority when it comes to improving the game--yet, I'm just rambling, I'm truly not sure.

In my opinion, it would be a smart move for Klei to create a 3DS version, assuming it is the best selling portable console in the current market. With their games on the most popular home console (PS4) and portable console (3DS), they would make a lot of sales.

Considering the fact that the Binding of Isaac on the 3DS was turned down by Nintendo, Indie developers could have gotten a bad impression on Nintendo. Nintendo is also looking for as many indie games on their console, but their inexperience in the new market is pulling them back.

Home consoles are not as flexible as the PC. It's no big surprise that the PS4 version is one step behind the PC/Mac/Linux version. The DLC for the PS4 version will not be released, until the PC/Mac/Linux version of the DLC is fully released.

I suppose I can understand why the Binding of Issac was turned down due to the somewhat mature and gory atmosphere and characters--although, mature games are on the system like Revelations.

Nintendo's history as a family friendly company needs to be broken a tad in the indie department if new connections and sources want to be opened--it's a real shame it didn't happen.

Yes, I fully support DS on the DS--(pardon the pun?) and although the gameplay could be argued as being a tad dark, it isn't as much as Issac--a teen rating seems fair.

Oh yeah, and now that I think things over, it's perfectly normal for DLC to be fully released as is on a console--on general, people with consoles are used to getting what they paid for right away and having constant updates for small bug fixes isn't logical--it would only give people more busy work with little pay off and less time to fully complete the DLC.

Anyway, yes, portable versions of the game should be considered when the DLC is finished--I'm wondering what could be done--it could be really fun--the DS and Vita tend to lack from game genre diversity from time to time.
