CombatVolcano Posted April 9, 2014 Share Posted April 9, 2014 For an item that is more or less required to get any enjoyment out of the game after day 10 they sure don't appear very often. On the map I'm posting there was not a single gear or chess monster so far around day 30. I dug up at least a dozen graves and caught about fifty tumbleweed. Adding too many things to this game tends to cause those things which are base-level requirements to not appear because of the vast open spaces. Don't even start on custom (read: CHEATING 100% CHEATING) modes. The game should be playable out of the box. The developers have gone way too far in, they need to fix what is currently in the game before adding worlds of new **** that isn't balanced right. Summer is also way, way too harsh and the "endothermic fire pit" is so stupid that it makes my brain hurt. It could have been so many things. (in RoG DLC, there can spawn more Clockworks than in "Vanilla" DS... so yeah... Explore! It's no spacing issue. You could basically survive untill day 100 without exploring a lot of your map, but then you can't say: "I haven't found that or that! Bad game!". No. You'll find it if you explore more of your map. What do you think needs to be fixed? Do you mean the difficulty? The DLC is ment to be a bit hard. Summer isn't supposed to be to easy. I agree that the endothermic fire pit isn't the most innovative item in the game, but I guess it's okay. Mostly I don't use it, and if you don't like it, you can always use the Ice Hat, Fashion Melon or another method of cooling down! I'd say it's in wrong subforum, but I guess a mod could just move it with their magical powers if so! Tumalu Posted April 9, 2014 Share Posted April 9, 2014 They actually added in more gears to the overworld in RoG already. You're just unlucky that you haven't found them. They're easier (kind of; still luckbased whether or not you explore where they're located) to find than they used to be since they appear in multiple spots instead of (mostly, apart from graveluck) ONLY appearing around the base of the teleportato. Now, while it varies how many setpieces you'll find with them, there's likely to be at least one other clockwork set that spawns. But yeah, this is the wrong subforum, we have one specifically for RoG. I have no idea why you're saying you "need to find it by day 10 to enjoy the game", anyway. emerphish Posted April 9, 2014 Share Posted April 9, 2014 WX is the only character that really "needs" gears, but you shouldn't be doing anything that you need 400 health for at day 10. Plus once you get 400 health the game gets very easy, enjoy the challenge. On my day 210 world as WX I just use dark sword, walking cane, tam, maybe logsuit maybe not.
