I have made two attempts thus far at surviving the wilds of Don't Starve. I have a few questions I hope the group here can answer.

1.) Both of my games have ended with me being overwhelmed by a group of angry spider's in the middle of the night. Is there any way to set up a defensive perimeter to prevent these attacks? I tried surrounding myself with multiple fires with no success.

2.) The easiest way to have a steady food source seems to be to build multiple traps and catch 4-6 rabbits every day. This however, is quite time consuming and eats up a lot of my daylight. Have you found a more efficient way?

3.) I think this game would be great of fun in a multi-player version. IE: One player can track building resources and the other can secure food. Do you know if plans exist to expand to multi-player at any point?

Awesome Game! I look forward to finding out how to survive at least a week!

Welcome to the forums and welcome to surviving in the world of Don't Starve.

You can research and create a mine that explodes into a few bees that attack, but that is it really. No fences or anything like it (yet). A very important thing about building a camp is choosing a good location, I never built a camp that is very close to spider nests, unless I want to farm them for silk. So carefully explore the area you want to camp in.

You can catch rabbits without making use of traps. Try to approach them from the direction of their hole, thus making them have to go into your direction to escape, hit them witha tool or weapon and voila, fresh morsel for dinner,

There is currently no multiplayer planned. Klei wants to spent their time to create an amazing singleplayer experience.

Have fun!

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely have to explore more carefully before setting up camp. I am glad that surviving in this game has proven more difficult than some others. To me it makes it more addictive and much more tense.
