Lady Tyrantess Posted April 7, 2014 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Just got the new DLC, from seeing its hype and all that I for the most part like the additions, all but for one, the summer heat. I cant for the life of me get somewhere to avoid the heat, not without taking time for construction, and I end up dying before I can try to make a hat or even make it to an ice glacier; and I don't want to have to hide by trees the entire season either, nor do I want to keep deleting the world over and over to get the season suitable, and lastly, I don't want to have summer removed altogether in the gameplay, I'm literally thrown into the summer and its heat within seconds of the game rendering, I can't prepare worth diddly to try and cool down before imminent death. All I can do is run around watching myself overheat in search of ice or something to cool down with. Is there a way to turn off the summer heat? I heard there is a way, but I cannot find it for the life of me in the world settings, all new icons are a headscratcher to figure out at times, and websites have given little to nothing about what the icons are. I feel like a total noob, and call me whiney, but what I love most about the game is exploring, and its frustrating to die one minute in because I can't find any source of cooling down in time. So yeah, is there a way to turn off the heat of the summer, or will there be a way to toggle the summer heat off/on once the DLC is fully released? Edit: this is probably in the wrong section, will a mod kindly move it to the proper section? I agree that there's no quickly-accessible ways to counter overheating when you don't know to prepare for it beforehand (assuming you don't have endothermic fire materials on hand), unlike how in winter you can just build a fire. If you prepare for it -before- summer arrives, though (as you now know to do) it's not bad. Also, this should probably be in the Reign of Giants section.
