If anyone knows enough about coding (or other aspects of modding) to want to develop these, let me know.

I'd love to see them added. I certainly can help with non coding aspects (art, writing) and I am willing to try to help with coding.

 

Anyway :

WHITE - The Dark Soul

- Creature of the Night, Dislikes Daylight, Slow Healing

 

"The black of night comforts my tortured existence."

 

Appearance - Black haired Goth/Emo teen male

Name is a pun on the term 'Wight'

Quotes from White allude to the fact that he may be vampire or other undead

 

Advantages

- suffers no sanity loss at dusk (or in torchlight at night)

- can gain sanity if in total darkness (although he cannot see and is still subject to attacks from the Charlie/the Grue)

- gains sanity under moonlight (full moon)

- extra healing from mosquito sack

- begins game with knowledge of how to construct purple gem and bat bat

 

Disadvantages

- suffers sanity drain in daylight

- takes extra damage from overheating

- gains less benefit from all healing effects of food and health giving items

WINFRED KL9 - The Machine Girl

- Internal Temperature Regulator, System Reboot, Hates Being Wet, Biofuel Dependent

 

"For a brief time I was human."

 

Appearance - Female Cyborg (one arm and one eye replaced) with white hair

Name is a reference to Manfred Clynes (one of the scientists to first coin the term cyborg)

Quotes from Winfred may make reference to Robocop, Seven of Nine, and other movie cyborgs.

 

Advantages

- Regulated Temperature (overheats and freezes more slowly)

- System Reboot (can 'sleep' without use of straw roll or other sleep items - although not as efficient at restoring sanity as when using items) - This may require an item exclusive to Winfred (like Woodie's axe)

 

Disadvantages

- Additional sanity loss from rain or being wet

- Biofuel Dependant (lower max hunger than other characters - becomes hungry 10% faster)

On the coding side since you seem to want to reverse sanity.. might be easier to not edit anything dealing with sanity gains/losses and instead only edit the code dealing with effects.

 

ie: make it so you are freaked out when the meter is filled up, instead of when empty.  that would be conceptually equivilant to making everything thats a current bonus be a negative, and everything thats a current penalty be a bonus.  And limit your code changes to one location.
