XirmiX
He's a character worst than any other. Why would anyone even bother to free him properly in the game? I know this was a while ago, but who would want a challenge with a total noob character that can't do anything? To this I say: admins you just wasted your time to make him. Completely pointless project he turned out. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/33431-what-is-the-point-in-wes/ Share on other sites
mitboy
If you do not use it, it does not mean that it is not used by others. I don't play for Woodie, Maxwell, Wigfrid, Wickerbottom... This does not mean that no one else plays for them . And why this topic in DLC >: ? Wilbur
A character who creates a bigger challenge for the player. And yes, there are people who want to play as Wes, I'd like to try him out, but I can't because I still haven't found him. Imo, they didn't waste their time creating Wes. They made a "Hard Mode" for DS. If you don't like him, don't play as him. Easy as that! Wrong subforum maybe? While I don't like the design of Wes, I myself find the game far too easy once you've found a method of survival that makes the game less "Try to avoid getting killed" and more "Does this carpet look good here? Or "I think my castle needs a bigger kitchen." Even with the DLC. And that's why I made my personal character have 60 health and 120 hunger that drains 1.5x as fast. Ridley
He is a challenge for people who like that kind of stuff, and has awesome and "infuriating useless" balloons. Also, don't use the word noob. Its just offensive and no one likes seeing it. An Artifact
As stated before, he is made for a bigger challenge during play, and also has a high style- and creepiness factor that comes with being a mime. Also, his balloons can be surprisingly useful for coordinated insanity and nightmare fuel farming. XirmiX
To be honest, btw at any point either way, you'll get a point when you need more stuff and not looking at what looks good. Even with the most OP character in the game (e.g WX-78 and Woody). Why would you want to make the game so hard on yourself that it looks just almost impossible? That's waste of time! Too hard and too easy is what makes you think that the game is stupid and pointless to play where as okay is where you actually are interrested in playing it. Anyhow, you can edit the world settings, but there's only so much you can do with that. An *OPTIONAL* character who's weaker mixed with world settings to make the game as hard as possible only gives players that opportunity. they're not being "badasses" by saying they play as a weaker character, they're probably just being honest. Less Pigs, Beef, trees, grass, shrubs, reeds, short seasons and long twilight. I went to the ruins of the first winter. And it was not very difficult.Unfortunately, I didn't open Wes. Will
I play as Wes. Does that make me stupid? I find he's a character nice for when you want the game to be impossible, to see how far you can make it. I'm currently working on getting through adventure with him. And do you really think all people do with Wes is make it to those options? No. That's dumb. You aren't even complaining about Wes anymore, you're just telling people who play as Wes that they are stupid. I'd appreciate if one the mods locked this thread, please. XirmiX
I just want to have a go at Wes myself but not if he's that dumb stupid and can't do nothing. Idea of him being a character is fabulous, but hia stats and abilities are up to nil. I want to have some abilities from him, say he runs faster with an umbrella or a pretty parasol or something. Just something more interresting than a dumb old nothingness. If you have always night not on Lights Out, you'll instantly die by Charlie.Anyways, am I an idiot for playing as a character weaker than Wes, tentacles, hounds, and beefalo heat on more, with resources on less? Just because I - or anyone - want more challenge, doesn't mean they're stupid. All that calling people stupid for wanting a game to be more challenging accomplishes is pissing people off. When people get far on a more challenging game, it feels mroe satisfying. Subscriber01236
He is meant to be played for a challenge/ laugh. He ISN'T meant to be special (though i love his balloons), that is the reason why he has no "special ability".Isn't Wes the exact same as Wilson (in terms of abilities if Wilson has no beard) with only slightly lower stats? (kind of ironic wes is actually stronger in some stats than other characters). I play Wes for a challenge (also making makeshift parties), because i hate using the World customization option, everything feels unnatural in the world to me(example, set Mandrakes to slightly more and now you have hundreds of them), Wes is the perfect solution to that for me.
