Basically creatures that can chase you down and shoot projectiles that increase your dampness. Kind of like the transformation the pigs go through during a full moon. When they become werepigs. However instead of going into a feral like state they would actually become more intelligent, and try to track you down. Maybe have them create traps as well just outside the swamp areas.
