Once a sinkhole is opened, it will spawn batilisks, with no way to shut the spawns down. Too close to an open sinkhole and you'll be dealing with constant pests. Bats will spawn at dusk and they're quite annoying unless you have some pig friends to beat them up Then again, you won't run out of fertilizers for your farms and bats drop meat as well (when you kill them). Not to mention the extreme annoyance that was penguins... but thats another story. And the Batlisks are indeed a nightmare. They may go down with one shot from most weapons but there's always too many of them to kite, so you pretty much always end up taking damage from them. Seriously, just set up 2 rabbit hutches beside the sinkhole. The rabbits will kill the bats within a couple seconds of them spawning and leave the drops.
