Why do I not have a Steam folder?

What if I just try to reinstall Don't starve and make it to save in the Steam folder, will that change anything?

I tried to get a mod on my other computer's Don't starve and it worked! Thanks so much guys, it seems that it's just my other computer that doesn't make it work for some reason. Thank you all very much!

Lat thing I want to ask before you can close this topic:

1) I found two touchstones in one game. Is that normal?

2) Is it possible to somehow link multiple conputers together so that even without internet connection they could play multiplayer together each on their own computer?

1. yes. you are just able to die multiple times.

2. no. there is no updated multiplayer mod.

If a game doesn't have the feature, you can't just expect it to work out of thin air, so yes, I did know what you were saying. Just because computers are connected through a LAN connection doesn't mean anything more than that.

 

3. It's automatic. What version does it say you have?

The Steam version should update automatically. You have to kind of go out of your way to disable updates on Steam.

 

The standalone version has an updater you can find in the game files. You'll need to enter a key that can be found on the game's page in your Humble account to activate the updater.

I think you have to make a key before downloading the instaler, right? Well I didn't enter a key when I downloaded my don't starve so I don't have a product key and I when I try to update even without the key it says it's incorrect. Suppose I can't have my Don't starve updated, right?

your key is created when you purchase the game. It's where Syd says it is.

Log into your Humble account on this webpage: https://www.humblebundle.com/home

 

You should see Don't Starve listed. If it's not, expand "Claim past purchases". If it's not there, put the email you bought the game with into the key resender: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender

 

Once you get to the Don't Starve page on Humble, you should be able to find your key there.
