SirKnight
So the setting is just after winter, a couple seasons after Wynn met Newleaf, some stuff has happened, and the small bird is nearing it's adulthood. The ground has small amounts of snow still frozen, but for the most part it's warm, and sunny. A few clouds trail across the sky, but nothing that will produce rain, or snow. Wynn is kicking around a ball made of beefalo skin and grass with her 'child' who both seem to be enjoying themselves.
Blewcheese
Newleaf sighs, as he rises. It has been seasons since the odd winter... But he still felt disturbed by it. After all, it had never happened before, and hopefully wouldn't happen again. Now that the sun was out, however, the weakness he felt in the winter had dissipated. He watches Wynn and the smallish tallbird play, dreading the day the bird would grow to its full capacity. For tallbirds were notorious for two things. They're territorial behavior and their betrayal of their parents.
SirKnight
The Teenage bird tackles Wynn, making them both fall to the ground. The girl giggles, petting the bird's head as it nuzzles into her. There was no way she could know of the danger lying ahead, she was too focused on the present, and right now, life seemed good. She had managed to create a couple patches of farming dirt, protecting the area with stone, but since Wynn was more of a wanderer, that's all she had managed. She was waiting for Newleaf in all truth, not wanting to risk wandering off and not being able to find him again. She hears him move, and looks up, smiling as she realizes he's awake now. Blewcheese
"Good morning, Wynn." Newleaf was immediately put on guard by the bird tackling Wynn, expecting it to finish its maturity any day now. But what would he say to Wynn? "Listen, Wynn, we have to talk about the bird..." Surely the girl would be heartbroken. Truth be told, Newleaf had grown dangerously close to the bird as well. How could that be, though? Hadn't Newleaf sworn long ago to a life a solitude? And now here he was, friends with a human and a tallbird, of all things. SirKnight
((Omg finals, SO MUCH TESTS. Sorry for the delay, im back now :3 ))Wynn smiles up at the Treegaurd. The bird runs off to go chase a rabbit that came too close. "What about?" She says, dusting herself off. She watches as the teenbird look confused at the hole the rabbit disappeared in, before crying out. She laughs a bit at it's sillyness before returning her attention to Newleaf. Blewcheese
(Hope you did well, and welcome back!)Newleaf takes deep breaths, deciding what he wanted to say. "Wynn... That tallbird isn't going to stay loyal to us forever. They're famous, or infamous, rather, for betraying their parents when coming of age. Any moment now, it could turn on us. I'm afraid... I'm afraid we must set if free. Before it does any harm." Newleaf looks into Wynn's eyes, mentally urging her to understand.
SirKnight
(sorry, again. ;-; )Wynn's smile is gone, and she's listening, and listening, but, she doesn't want to hear it, not after all she's done for the bird. "He wouldn't.." She backs away, glancing behind her, is the bird, tilting his head at her. She stares back at Newleaf, not wanting to believe him. Blewcheese
(Is okay)"He would. And he will. Tallbirds are very powerful creatures, Wynn. He could kill you in an instant." Newleaf shakes his head. "This must be hard to hear... But I'm only concerned for your safety." Concerned for your safety? Newleaf's natural instinct was to protect. Be it his territory, the forest, or in fact his friends. As much as he hated to force the bird away, he would rather loose the bird that Wynn. SirKnight
( Guess who was distracted by playing oblivion and martin's crazy awesome hair??? )"But..." She looks at the bird again, backing a bit more from Newleaf. "But I.." She was struggling, trying to proccess this, trying to fully understand, if he was telling the truth. If he was... well.. She wouldn't know what to do.. She had grown to care for the bird, he was her baby, her little bird, even though he towered over her.
Blewcheese
(My guess is you. Did I get it right?)Newleaf shakes his head. "The bird has to go. He's going to hurt somebody." Another treeguard emerges from the forest, standing next to Newleaf. That should be enough to handle the tallbird. "I'm sorry, Wynn."

SirKnight
(Oh jashin >C I have school stuff to work on an trouble makers come in an... HUFF! Sorry bout that ;3; ) Wynn looks back at the bird again, but can't seem to wrap her mind around it. How could.. Was he really concerned for her? The bird could be bothersome sure but... "I.." She struggles to even respond to him, she can't barely think of loosing the bird. She's fed and cared for it, kept it safe, though at times proved annoying, it was often sweet and loving. Blewcheese
Newleaf nods. "Take your time. I'm sure this is hard. You should say goodbye to it." Newleaf had never called the bird an it before. Always he. But not this time. He glances at the bird. He had agreed to help raise and feed it, knowing all too well that it would create a situation like this one. Why hadn't he told Wynn this would happen earlier...? Because it was worth it. The joy made up for the sorrow they encountered now. He turned back and looked at Wynn, seeing the confusion in her eyes. "It's a cruel world. But you have to make the best of it."

SirKnight
(sorry about that! I think I've finally caught a break to all this everything, srsly! things have just been crazy. ;---; )The bird cries, thoroughly frustrated with something, and huffs over to Wynn. The tiny bird now towers over her, making her tilt her head painfully up to look at him. He crouches, tilting his body before looking up at her with his one huge adorable eye. He might be hungry, but he's been doing so well at finding his own food, she's rarely had to actually feed him now. She pats the top of his head, trying not to cry, not to break down and sob her throat out. She knows he'll do fine. Tears are already welling up, and she's stuck just petting him, remembering it all, but she needs to figure this out, where he'll be happy. One more hunt, she tells herself, let him have it all, and run. She motions for him to follow, down near some plains, covered in long grass, rabbits, and the herds. It'll have to be something big, to keep him distracted enough, and far away. They walk in the grass, searching for a lone calf, or a disconnected Beefalo. They walked far, the plains just went on forever, but there it was, one of them was far off. She crouches down, and the bird does the same, watching her closely, learning, growing. She swallows the lump forming in her throat and sneaks around it, behind it. One more. She catches its leg and it falls, the bird strikes, soon its dead, and he's already tearing into it. She sneaks away, watching him gobble it up as she goes. Then she's running, sprinting, and he hears her. He doesn't cry like he would if he can't see her, but as if it were a rabbit, something that was food. She hides, laying still in the grass, cursing the dark color of her pelt. Then he does something else, picking grass, twigs, and carrying them toward the food. She sees this as a chance to escape, and scurries off. The golden brown grass ends, and things are staring to look green, she can see trees, but she looks back, to see her baby, running after her, and she can't move, but there he is. He's looking to kill her, but he stops, ruffles his feathers, and screams the loudest cry he's ever made. He turns, still ruffled, and kicks dirt up as he leaves. Her only chance, he'll ever give her. She stumbles away, shakily making over to where she was, staring at the fields, making a mental note to see how his life goes, but from afar. He was going to kill her, the look on his face was plain, but instead he just scared her off. She lays down, still shivering, trying not to cry about it. But those fields were off limits now, she'd have to move on, find somewhere else to hunt.
Blewcheese
(It's fine!)Newleaf sighs. It must have been hard for Wynn to let go of something she cared so much for. It had taken a lot of restrain to not attack the bird when it nearly killed Wynn, but he knew that the exchange was important for her to understand the situation. Newleaf gently reached out, placing his hand on her shoulder. He wasn't very good at interacting with humans. "You did well, Wynn..."

SirKnight
She nods, looking up at Newleaf. "Do trees die on their own?" She asks suddenly, not looking at anything in particular. "Or do you go on living, forever.." Her own thoughts don't make much sense to her either, but something in Wynn makes her ask.
Blewcheese
Newleaf thinks for a moment. "There is always cause for death. Nothing truly does on their own. This is true for trees, too. If I were to grow too old, I would fall apart. I may fall in battle. I could list many ways for a tree to die. Why is it that you ask?"
