Spriggum drew up his other leg.  Now that the girl had seen him, stealth would not be an option.  He lumbered towards them as fast as he could, taking a threatening posture.

"Why must you humans bring your chaos here?  Are your cities not large enough to contain your hatred and evil?"

Austin's eyes widen, and he whispers to Cakey.

"Stay calm. Don't say a word."

He faces the giant tree person, slowing down.

"Sir, sincerest apologies. But we too are outcasts from the cities. We simply must move through, and we are being chased..."

Another gunshot is heard, grazing Austin's ear. A few more shots are fired, and some hit Spriggum.

Spriggum roars in anger.  In one swipe, he grabs Austin by the legs and raises him, upside-down, to his eye level.

"You say that you come in peace, yet you bring with you the murderous beings who would fire upon me!  You had to bring your guns and your bombs and your machines!  LEAVE ME IN PEACE!"

(Ninjured)

Austin tries to keep a grip on Cakey, but she falls out of his arms. He closes his eyes, and does all he can to remain calm.

"I do not intend to invade nor destroy this place. It is not I who brings these men, it is these men who bring themselves. And if you were to let us go, we would indeed leave you in peace."

Spriggum shakes his head furiously.  "You think your tricks can fool me?!?!?!"

He wraps his other hand around Austin's other half, silencing him.  One flick of the wrist, and the invader would be torn asunder.

And yet, he hesitated.

Austin closed his eyes, unable to speak.

Well, I guess this is it. Sorry Ma. You'll have to fend for yourself.

As Austin accepts his death, a group of police, who are armed, come crashing through the trees.

"Put your hands up! We have you surrounded..."

The speaker, who was probably the leader, hesitates as he sees the giant tree.

Watching from his bush, Wexley couldn't help but get struck with an unexplained pang of guilt. He had no idea why. They were apparently criminals, after all, and they got apprehended. But for some unexplained reason, he felt sympathetic towards them. This was extremely peculiar, as he was built to hate people like them. But still, he had a peculiar feeling he should do something. Though he didn't. He just sat there, and did his all to look like the broken, defunct robot that he was earlier this day.

Austin's eyes flicker for a moment.

"I'm... Alive?"

But then, a misthrow. One of the grenades was primed too early, and it bounces off Spriggum and rolls at Austin and Cakey. With a deafening sound, it explodes.

(Uh, don't know if I screwed up in the depiction, but there are more than two guards. Those were just the ones that were holding Cake hostage.)

The officers yelp and flee after seeing their fallen comrades, hastily escaping from the forest.

(Well that was abrubt. BOOM EXPLOSION!)

Noticing the bang, Wexley looked up. Seeing the bodies, he walked over to them. His unexplained guilt was growing stronger now. There was a way to save them even in this state, he knew it. He had the extra nightmare fuel. But the question is, should he?
