Do i need to create a new world to be able to generate the new biomes?

When you say new biomes, do you mean crafting a unique landscape type like Savanna and Forest is to the game now?

 

 

If yes, then you could debug spawn turf that could be planted if created and entered via a mod. Else it's likely you'll have to go to a new world to generate it alone with the normal lands.

 

 

If you simply mean resetting for a new setup world, then of course yes. 

 

If you mean something else, do clarify though.

Maybe he means the new biomes announced at Six Feet Under Update

 

Added a couple new biomes:

• Red and Green fungus forests
• Sunken Swamps

And the nightmare has further influenced the caves. Fissures can be found throughout.

and for that, the answer would be yes, but only for the caves you've already been in.

Biomes are more than just the turf, they're also the objects found in them.  Placing fungal turf in places won't make that place a fungal biome any more than painting a Camaro on your lemon will turn it into a Camaro.
