New teleportation methods were added in the beta, but as it stands, they are too expensive and their practicality is a bit lacking.

To improve this teleportation system without making major changes to the existing Polished Orb Fragment system, a few ideas have been floating around: lowering the cost or changing the crafting materials of the Polished Orb Fragment, adopting a cooldown system so the fragment isn't consumed upon teleportation, or, as others have suggested, splitting the focus "orb" and the orb used to warp to these focuses into separate items.

Therefore, I would like to propose adopting a cooldown system, which hasn't been discussed much on the forums yet.

If the Polished Orb Fragment used a cooldown system, the high cost of its materials would be much easier to overlook.

However, considering how easy it is to obtain Polished Orb Fragments right now, a simple cooldown system might be a bit too overpowered. So, how about requiring players to combine an Enlightened Shard with a Polished Orb Fragment to activate this cooldown feature?IMG_0930.jpeg.4155466a92f3f3743176f86b7d191904.jpeg

I believe there are various ways to integrate a cooldown system into the Polished Orb Fragment, so I would love to hear everyone's thoughts. The "Enlightened Shard × Polished Orb Fragment" concept is just a little idea I came up with ^^

motivates more people to farm the moon boss

Players of the later game have been constantly farming CC to they have become somewhat tired of it, I even think that there should be other ways to obtain the Enlightened Shard  after activating Lunar Rift.

Up until now, the Enlightened Shard hasn't been very necessary for most characters. But if this change motivates more people to farm the moon boss, it would add a great mid-game progression element and make things a lot more fun.

For the love of god, no, please no. Elastispacer and mushroom light have already consumed enough Enlightened Shards. Don't let me kill more CC, please!

Yeah, looks like it lol^^ Honestly, I just liked the idea because the Polished Orb Fragment looks like it would literally slot right into the Enlightened Shard lol.

I would genuinely love this since enlightened shards are basically useless in actual gameplay if you crafted the scrap armor. Having an actual use for the enlightened shards which is similar in quality to the utility of fuelweaver's loot would be welcome.

I enjoy the elastispacer but I don't really need more than a few for bulk items and one or two is more than enough for mass storage needs. The mushlights and glowcaps look pretty but the light the enlightened crown glowcaps give off is so pitiful, small and tedious to farm for that I usually only get a few if even, would love if the range of the light was buffed but probably not going to happen at this point. Also infinite full moon makes glowcaps and mushlights useless so...

I think a cooldown method would be a little bit too broken as it disincentivizes fighting the archives guards or celestial champion again. If combining the orb fragment and enlightened crown shard gave each a lot more teleports and fitting durability per teleport to suffice. The orb fragments could even break on deconstruction or can't be deconstructed so players can't abuse re-crafted the item at 100%

As cool of an idea as this is, enlightened shards shouldn't get any more uses until a good reliable method of farming scrap is added.

Don't the scrap fences respawn after they're destroyed in the scrapyard, its usually enough for a fight here and there (rip Werepig giving more than 5 scrap per battle despite being the "scrap boss"). Green gem duping is also available due to the ease of breaking walls crafted with a green amulet. I know character swapping is not looked highly upon but swapping to Winona and collecting scrap passively is a valid low commitment method.

The fences only respawn if the abandoned junk respawns in the scrap yard, which can only happen if scrappy werepig isn't currently freed from the massive junk pile. This means you have to pick between the fences and the werepig (and kinda the abandoned junk since it respawns at complete random if the werepig is freed, which means it's going to be a massive pain to track down).

Green gem duping should never be the best option for obtaining more of a resource. It can be an option for players with green gems to spare, but the game should never be balanced around it. That being said, it is easily the best method for obtaining lots of scrap quickly.

Cacheboxes are fine, but you can only get 1 every 4 minutes, and thanks to the time spent finding the cache (and doing the puzzle if there is one) you'll only be able to get slightly under 2 cacheboxes per day. Even then, you're only getting 1-2 scrap per cachebox, which I guess is okay, but this is a character exclusive strategy, and as such I don't think it should be counted as a viable scrap farming method.

I will roast the pig everytime I can, useless boss but nothing makes me happier than squashing him. You are also not required to free him post TINGLE node as getting the BPs from the abandoned junk is much quicker than killing the werepig and werepig drops a terribly amount of junk . Also Wagstaff "gives up" and returns to making his abandoned junk at the scrapyard if you don't find it quick enough and werepig is gone.

I feel bad saying this but quite a lot of mechanics in this game feel established on green gem duping or preserving now, intentionally at this point it feels like. Shroom skin and dragon scales are only collected at a reasonable rate (for decor no less) using green gems. Celestial crown can only be broken by green gems such with other items like bee queen crown for lots of honeycomb, and mandrakes are still not renewable without Klaus so green gem is the only way to repair panflutes. Green gem duping is a main part of the game now, and while I agree it should not be the staple method of collecting items, it is a staple for many for collecting many annoying to obtain items.

I mean farming CC is an endgame process, nothing requires scrap really besides minor items pre-rifts. I think unless you are doing something very specific with a character specific strategy (late-game you would've already done anyways) than passively playing Winona for scrap isn't terrible. This is definitely not the best method but its low effort (esp with the catche boxes with no puzzles) makes it valuable in its own regard. (also Winona's teleports are arguably the best non-DLC character method we have so its a bonus using them)
