suggestion Printerceptor Suggestion: Use Pearls as an Alternative Currency for Aquatic Items

With The Aquatic Planet Pack, Pearls are becoming an important resource for the new underwater progression. Would this be a good opportunity to expand the Printerceptor with an alternative payment method?

I have always found Data Banks to be a slightly strange currency for the Printerceptor. They are primarily associated with space exploration and research, but they are also used as a generic payment method to purchase critters, seeds, resources, and other items. This can make the Printerceptor feel disconnected from the theme of the colony and from the progression of each DLC.

My suggestion would be to add a new Aquatic category to the Printerceptor and allow players to purchase aquatic items with Pearls instead of Data Banks.

Small Update: Use Pearls as the Exclusive Currency for Aquatic DLC Items :

Medium update : add a special tab for the Aquatic items :

Large update : create the "Minnow's Shop" inside the Printerceptor.

It allow to add categories could include, for example:

• Aquatic critter eggs
• Aquatic seeds and plants
• Corals
• DLC-specific resources
• Other rare items introduced in The Aquatic Planet Pack

This would not necessarily need to replace the existing Data Bank system. Pearls could simply become an alternative currency for aquatic content, with prices balanced around their availability.

I think this could have several advantages:

• It would give Pearls another long-term use once the early-game aquatic progression is established.
• It would make the Printerceptor feel more connected to the DLC.
• It would provide an alternative way to obtain rare aquatic items without relying entirely on random Printing Pod care packages.
• It could open the door to similar DLC-specific currencies or categories in the future.

For example, the Printerceptor could eventually have dedicated tabs for content from different DLCs, each with its own thematic resource or unlock condition.

What do you think? Would you prefer Pearls to be an alternative payment method, or should aquatic items be purchasable exclusively with Pearls?
