Thank you @MinhPham and @Saturnus. I wouldn't have been able to build this out without your help.

From the discussions in this post and my other post that tries to consolidate that info, I was able to ranch dreckos in a bizarre way.

 

Drecko Ranch V5

 

Dupe /  Sweeper Egg Delivery

You are able to configure this build for dupe delivery, sweeper delivery, or both. The wild module lower left is set to lock the doors when an egg is detected so you are able to keep all of your wild dreckos in one place without it affecting your main ranch.

 

Drecko Compatible Egg Shell Conveyor

Able to separate and retrieve egg shells from eggs and hold dreckletts until maturity.

 

Pseudo Barrier Drecko Trap & One-Way Pathing

Efficient drecko trap uses only 1 critter sensor and 2 automation wires. One way pathing is used with doors to herd dreckos into specific areas. Wild & breeder module contain a hydrogen chamber that can hold dreckos for a configurable amount of time to facilitate scale growth.

 

Climate Control

Splits packets to evenly distribute temperature and merges them back to send to TR. Automated power / gas shutoff bypass [no constant power draw]. Self Contained liquid loop to evenly distribute heat from hydrogen to chlorine atmosphere. Stanley cup style thermal vacuum seal to prevent temperature leak.

  • Max 8 drecko breeding module
  • Open space wild/feeder module to prevent misery
  • Critter Pickups w/ Critter sensor to automate drecko renewal
  • Oxygenated shearing stations

Fourth iteration - has emergency hamster wheel for power. was removed from V5 as it wasn't needed. has a different layout that only had room for one critter pickup/dropper.

Cheap V1 - More expensive and complex automation, but slightly skinnier. On further inspection the incubator automation would not have worked correctly. I would have needed 2 critter sensors, one for eggs and the other for critters so the incubator could stay grounded long enough to provide the lullaby buff, otherwise it would immediately open when an egg is delivered into the incubator. I don't remember why I added the critter pickup in the breeding room.

Drecko Ranch Cheap V1.blueprint

Cheap V2 - Cheaper, less complex automation, same features as previous eggshell conveyor / egg retriever. eggshell retrieval not quite right when not retrieving eggs. V4/5 fixes this issue but does not have egg retrieval.

Right before posting this, I was using a hydrogen atmosphere, but the athletics penalty was too great and risked suffocation, so I opted for o2. If you have an atmo suit or o2 mask setup you can get the additional 1/10 cycle from the dreckos to be in hydrogen. They will still need to go back to their chamber because it opens up into the world and doesn't confine them. ngl, I kinda liked the idea that would be egg thieves were trapped and had to work for their lives to escape.

 

I think I got the automation/config slightly wrong, the autosweeper has to do work each time the eggs are moved to the right. I'll try to move the sweeper a bit to get it to see the right spots without breaking the trap.

I knew I got the automation wrong, I have a fix for it though. we don't need to retrieve eggs like in the other builds so the automation is slightly different and I don't need to change the layout at all.

easy fix, put the buffer on its own line and added a filter to keep the bottom vertical door closed longer. sweeper no longer doing excess work when retrieving eggshells

Updated the bp for V4. Forgot to add a conveyor loader for eggs in the wild module. Also tinkered with priority, added a one-way door, and added automation so the wild module could work correctly with or without sweepers. Dupe can now enter the wild trap for X amount of time when detected by motion sensor. There is always something to overlook. Skeleton Build is complete, not much to be done there. Only difference is no overvoltage automation as the skeleton build has 370w potential (10w for the gas shutoff), no shipping related buildings, or excess wires powering shipping buildings.

Changes to wild/starving module:

Removed emergency hampster wheel, battery, and automation as it was no longer needed.

Changed layout to include both critter pickup and dropper.

If you are wondering what the extra dispenser is for, it is to create a supply task so the dupes have a reason to enter the wild module.

making a showcase vid. minor fix to V5, moved the dispenser further in so dupes would not endlessly deliver while standing in the doorway to the wild module.

🤦‍♂️new layout for wild module messes with the drecko trap, fix incoming.
