Thank you @MinhPham and @Saturnus. I wouldn't have been able to build this out without your help.

From the discussions in this post and my other post that tries to consolidate that info, I was able to ranch dreckos in a bizarre way.

V2 Cheap + Extras

Made the Wild Drecko Module. This turned out much better than I expected. It just works. This build does not interfere with the main ranch and is self contained. The doors are locked until all eggs have been processed. There is an emergency hampster wheel to unstuck duplicants. Now you can keep your Wild Dreckos and ranch at the same time. edit; Started using suppressed notifications mod so I removed a few power wires from the doors and dispensers. Unfortunately, the BP mod I am using does not save suppressed notification states in the BP and will need to be suppressed with each fresh build.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Checklist for luxury build

- Semi-fully automated. Can't automate grooming/shearing and critter pickup/dropoff is way too efficient to use over passive/active egg delivery methods.

- Phosphorite balm lily farm for normal dreck morphs

- Starving hydrogen chamber for glossy morphs

- Cooling / Heating Zones for correct plant growth and 1-tile refrigeration

- Primary glossy morph breeding room

Separate starving hydrogen chamber for wild drecks

V2 - Cheaper, less complex automation, same features as previous eggshell conveyor / egg retriever.

V1 - More expensive and complex automation, but slightly skinnier. On further inspection the incubator automation would not have worked correctly. I would have needed 2 critter sensors, one for eggs and the other for critters so the incubator could stay grounded long enough to provide the lullaby buff, otherwise it would immediately open when an egg is delivered into the incubator. I don't remember why I added the critter pickup in the breeding room.

Right before posting this, I was using a hydrogen atmosphere, but the athletics penalty was too great and risked suffocation, so I opted for o2. If you have an atmo suit or o2 mask setup you can get the additional 1/10 cycle from the dreckos to be in hydrogen. They will still need to go back to their chamber because it opens up into the world and doesn't confine them. ngl, I kinda liked the idea that would be egg thieves were trapped and had to work for their lives to escape.

 

I think I got the automation/config slightly wrong, the autosweeper has to do work each time the eggs are moved to the right. I'll try to move the sweeper a bit to get it to see the right spots without breaking the trap.

I knew I got the automation wrong, I have a fix for it though. we don't need to retrieve eggs like in the other builds so the automation is slightly different and I don't need to change the layout at all.

easy fix, put the buffer on its own line and added a filter to keep the bottom vertical door closed longer. sweeper no longer doing excess work when retrieving eggshells
