what are you fighting with the bone helm on?

I'm all for the proposal, but I am trying to think of cases where I would both want to have the helm on and fight something with the spin circuit.

or... is this a case of trying to mine statues or something like that while using the spin circuit?

I guess I never really used the bone helm outside of a few cases for specific characters. Often I don't use it in the ruins, I just adhere to the ways of old where I wait for the cycle to pass in a relatively safe area, fight my way out, or speed out via beefalo or character mechanics.

Mining statues in the ruins mainly. The bone helm in combination with the chess master circuit makes every creature in the actual good ruins biomes neutral towards you, which would let you clear the ruins in a very safe and clean manner. If you're using the spin-cycle however, then you'll hit the shadow creatures when they walk to up you to do their taunt animation, making that less true.

I could also see it being an issue when on repeat fuelweaver fights, though to a lesser degree.

Mainly mining. The pickaxe deals dmg to shadow creatures even tho I’m only mining, which makes it dangerous.

how does the bone helm help you fight fuelweaver? This seems like it would just a be worse, you may have to explain more to help others see what you mean here because it isn't very clear.

to avoid nightmare creatures ?

Its a replacement for the nightmare amulet for the purposes of damaging fuelweaver's summoned hands. I personally prefer it since it means I don't have to worry about the nightmare amulet breaking from having it equipped for too long, and it leaves your body slot open for bone armor, without having to incur the short cooldown it goes on when you equip it. Definitely don't have it equipped constantly though, cause then you'll be vulnerable to the mind control attack.

yeah that sounds a bit messy, especially since it feels like the bone-helm generates more nightmares than the nightmare amulet, it's a 70% damage reduction armor that you only get if you kill fuelweaver. I try too hard to preserve stuff like that, of course I could be an outlier in that data since I do play very differently from most in my experience. 

I mean when I play I am a Conservationist, I don't smash natural spawners like hound mounds, spider dens or pig houses and I avoid causing rampant fires wherever possible. I carry a watering can in summer just so I can save any burning plants or animals, It may be possible that that concept of conservation has spread to certain armor's or resources like boss armor or how much grass I use. 

I wouldn't use the bonehelm in most cases but I can see the value to others playstyles or choices, I love the fact that we can have multiple approaches to these problems and can find ways that work for us individually, it's why I love this game. (and it may be why I can't stand when others write something off as "dumb" because they specifically don't do it when they play, terribly closeminded and often dogmatic...)

I have not seen anything to indicate that the bone helm generates more nightmare creatures than the nightmare amulet. I still prefer it for AFW because the nightmares don’t become targets when you’re going for the hands.

Anyway the helm has a ton of durability and you’re only switching to it to take out hands so if you’re actually going through an entire helm per fight you’re probably wearing it for too long.
