A character's downside is meant to impact how they play not punish your teammates due to you existing that's extremely poor game design in a multiplayer setting and is only okay in a solo setting. 1 hour ago, Naifxoxo said: same thing with her freeze weakness , yeah she takes more freeze dmg and freezes faster but they removed it by giving her an unlimited star staff thats available day 1 , whats the point of this freeze *weakness* if they made it so that she will never even freeze no matter overworld, caves or even at ocean the stars works everywhere I agree the skill tree killed her weakness Edited May 15 by Mysterious box 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171392--/page/3/#findComment-1867123 Share on other sites
Mike23Ua
19 hours ago, Jussatoon said: Not just that, but doesn't even play the game anymore. I actually Do play the game, I just don’t have the time to play it for long lengths of time, and when I DO get to play it the Majority of my time is spent explaining the highly complex functions of the game to whomever I’m trying to teach how to play said game, and I’m doing so not just once.. but with every character that they select. Imagine it for a second… you have a friend who’s never really played DS/DST, that friend picks to play as Willow, Imagine having to explain that they have to kill enemies while the enemies are on fire and then suck their embers in with a lighter, to use as a currency for fire spells. Imagine not just having to convey all that information, but also explain which BUTTONS on the Xbox Controller they need to press to perform said action. And now… I want you to imagine said new player picking Webber, or Woodie, or Wolfgang. My time with DST is now spent explaining what “Insight points” are, where to invest them to get the characters to do what the person playing as them enjoys doing as them.. So technically No, I don’t get to play the game anymore, I stand around near the other player almost AFK, (maybe I’m gathering nearby resources like twigs and grass) while at the same time, Explaining What type of game DST even is and how each character plays/ what they’re supposed to be doing as each character. I’m sorry if I haven’t had time to play as WX78, but I still stand by my original statement: WX78 taking health damage in the rain was added to the game only because WX use to have ridiculously high pools of health just from eating gears, if that is no longer the case (& apparently it is?) then Klei needs to probably remove or change that now. When my friend tried to pick WX78 I told them WX recently got changes & skill tree and I haven’t had time to sit down and figure that character out yet and I’d have to look up information in detail online on a Wikipages or Forum. In short: I miss the days of solo DS were characters weren’t overly complicated headaches to explain to people who your trying to get into the game. I already answered it and have nothing left to say. Why is DST so boring?". I almost miss the days of this sort of forum logic Ive seen a person say WX's nightvision circuit is useless cuz you can use a nightvision mod, like, these people aren't real. I thankfully grew out of my aerial view era. WX downside is miles better designed than most characters. They didn't include a single perk in his tree that makes his downside any less lethal. Thats already a lot better than most characters, my mans design stays solid and strong. The reason why I call him a character with no downsides it's because his downsites are way too easy to deal with, just use the raincoat or the eyebrella and boom, there you go. You could have just used speed circuits instead of a magi and you could have equipped the raincoat. So really it was mostly user error what caused that catastrophe. I was mostly talking about BQ in that segment, spinning with a pick/axe deals with the minions easily. It's also pretty good against FWs minions if you don't know how to walk him around, glass cutters are fine sure, just like thulecite clubs, but at that you'd just make us go off on a tangent.
