I don't mean turn everyone into Warly 2.0 but, yea

Even Warly isn't dodging the "place 4 things in a pot and wait a few seconds", he just has weird stuff happening with eating. Not a single character actually has interesting cooking.

I really hope this game become its own thing. My wild prediction (want) is that this game will be a fast paced Dont starve battle royale with the characters having to constantly move to get away from the fog

With DSE having elevated land (higher & lower) I would really like to see the game use this to provide us with unique navigational challenges & puzzles such as for example: a hilltop with mountain goats that are aggressive and try to headbutt you off (we see this in the trailer by the way so it’s pretty much confirmed)

I’d also like to be able to come up with unconventional methods to cross from one elevated hill onto another one, such as for example, maybe those same headbutt aggressive goats can be tricked into headbutting a standing stone pillar that causes it to collapse over and become a bridge from one hillside onto another.

These are the types of new challenges that DSE will be able to provide us that no previous DS experience (not including mods obviously) has ever been able to give us.

Also, please no on the battle Royale, that’s just terrifying to even think about.

If only it had been a few seconds. This is usually 30-60 seconds of standing in one place...

I'm hoping there's gonna be more ways to deal with certain threats without direct combat, with the combat options that we do get being more varied in ways that don't just boil down to which damage stick you feel like holding.

Setting up traps and letting other mobs take care of one another was always one of the coolest bits of potential gameplay ds had and I'd love for that to be expanded upon as I always thought it was fairly underwhelming despite how much potential it held. And as for direct combat options we do get, it'd be nice to see more non-standard weapons that can hold their own, because it always felt like anything other than melee was at best a niche utility you'd only consider using in one or two situations, and at worst just a gimmicky novelty so impractical it's an active detriment more than anything.

I’m hoping that DSE overall will be a faster paced game than DST, to accomplish ANYTHING in DST can take literal hours of time, even just building a boat can take forever grinding resources.. But DSE seems to tease Shipwrecked boats and character swimming so I’m hopeful the gameplay is more fast paced and isn’t a slow boring grind.

I hope that “the fog” encourages the player to stay on the move to avoid settling down in one spot for too long, I hope DSE will have navigational puzzles like the examples I’ve created in the spoiler:

I hope that they will find clever ways to reinstate the floor traps & enemy strongholds that Solo DS Adventures Mode had but DST has very little of.

For example, if you put a Pigman torch set piece on top of a hill the player has to climb up onto the hill and cross through the dangerous checkpoint to get to another area on the other side (just like solo DS!)

I’d also like to see maxwells toothtrap mine fields and the Swamp Tentacle mazes return.

Like I said: overall a faster paced game you can play in short burst sessions that do not require hours of grinding to feel like you’ve even done anything.

i feel like thats the trend, people just dont have hours and hours of free time just wait for something to happen like dst

An ability to favorite items like in terraria, so they're bound to a slot.

Also if there is going to be a spell casting system like in DST (Willow/Wendy/etc), it's menu should be mapped to a button. Tbh it would be nice if we could bind a key for each spell.

1) Crafting versatility – materials with similar properties can be used to craft anything.
2) Terraforming – the ability to break and expand land, dig tunnels.
3) An engaging combat system.
4) Hunt for valuable artifacts from the castle, which can replace the skill tree from DST.

I hope we get the in-game glossary thingie like what DST got later on that I get to fill in slowly. Something to keep track of things I discovered and help me resist going to the wiki to check how things work ahead of time because I feel I have 0 chance of figuring them out on my own.

It would also be nice to have stealth mechanics. And one thing that bothers me is the gliding from a height on an umbrella and spring-assisted jumping. Just because the game has a cartoonish style doesn't mean it has to have such cartoonish cliches. Shepherd's Leap would have been more appropriate for jumping from a height.

Thought of something that might be a nice extra perk for Winona, the ability to disassemble structures into a portable kit of itself! So you could move things around with ease without having to absolutely destroy the thing. (She could still fully hammer things if she hammers the portable structure kit)

On top of that, as a base game feature, I think it'd be cool to see structure upgrades or even a "group project" feature where players can place a plan for a structure and anybody could chip in supplies to build it. Think of how you can work together to build the Celestial Portal or Pearl's Home for example! I think that could elevate the group base-building aspect a little bit!

A rework for the combat system, or something to make multiplayer lag not make kiting nearly impossible

until we get near-instantaneous transmission on every single internet-accessible device and all of those devices are fully to spec AND weather becomes a universal non-factor in reception rates there is always going to be lag

some games like minecraft and such don't completely fall apart at the slightest milliseconds of lag, i'm not saying to remove lag entirely from the world, that's not gonna happen

On my Xbox series S with the game installed directly onto the consoles main harddrive (doing this makes your games run faster by the way) Lag is near non-existent, and the loading screen transitions between surface to caves go by quick.

On my old Xbox One however (the platform the game came out for) it is laggy as all hell, loading transitions take ages.

all I’m saying is that it might not fully be the games fault for your lag, and you could possibly need to look into buying hardware to better your performance.

Who would be our Chester or hutch for this dont starve?

the salty dog as cute as it was I feel like it was a forgotten item that maybe some or a few people use since you can obtain salt easily by mining or drying sea weed on Pearl's rack after you relocate her

Maybe another flying one like Packim baggims or the salt dog can return to give it another chance

I think a safe bet is that our Chester will be this thing from the trailer

i think that if i can run every other game with no issue except for don't starve's together's combat, that it's an issue with the game, and not my hardware. even just 50ms makes kiting infinitely harder, it's absurd...
