The graphics and returning cast + 3d landscape make it look like a sequel, but DST life cycle is far from finished, the lore isnt over and a LOT of skill tree's are missing. Is it a spin off? are both going to receive constant updates? we will have to way until april 16th to see...

I wonder if, since character are like, 3x stronger then they were on DST's launch, they will carry their power level over and make the game 3x harder

Интересно, если персонажи стали в три раза сильнее, чем при запуске DST, сохранится ли их уровень силы и не станет ли игра в три раза сложнее?

An idea I've seen is that dst will likely become ds in that it'll still get some updates and content but eventually sunset once elsewhere gets more popular. Assuming it is truly the sequel.

DSE is still months and probably years away. We got a conclusion to wagstaff and with him the lunar side of the conflict and there’s plenty of time to finish the shadow side and the skill trees.

There is a chance klei wants to continue 2 don’t starve games and the same time but I find that unlikely.

There's not THAT many skill trees left. Assuming they spend maybe a month and a half on each moving forward, and a DSE release in 2027-28, they have time to finish the story and skill trees

It's enitre possible it is spin-off like Gorge/Forge- and i would be happy with that

Probably not like gorge or forge considering how many gameplay evolutions seem to be present; forge and gorge were still dst, but with new stuff. This is pretty substantially reworked. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was similar to what shipwrecked and Hamlet were, but the new art style signifies something important to me.

I didnt mean that- its obvious new game but in the plot it can still be "survavors went to other realm and still end up in Constant"

It's honestly kind of crazy that this is pretty much the first time we've gotten a fully original experience in don't starve. Even with how much don't starve together has changed, it's always been built upon the original, so seeing things like verticality, a less tile based system and

I'd say elsewhere is probably a sequel. From Beyond seems to be making sweeping changes to the constant as we know it canonically, so it'd make sense for from beyond to lead to a status quo shift that becomes elsewhere.

It actually would not surprise me if this is part of the Gorge 'world.' The aesthetics are similar. Goats are present. There's a curse that turns things aquatic.
To gorge is to eat, but a gorge is also a hilly area. And, low and behold, we have elevation here too.

It would certainly be a fun way to flesh out the Ancient Gateway adventures.

that was not a conclusion to wagstaff, that was a cliffhanger. Months is too little time for all skill trees especially now that it will be one at a time instead of 3 or 2

2027 to 2028? looks feasible
