The Zaptrocuter is in a really weird spot currently, where its kinda too weak and also broken (in a cheesy way) so to fix this i think the Zaptrocuter should be half automatic half active, instead of using the remote to shoot things yourself, it should start analyzing the target of your choosing for a few seconds (as you fly above it) and when the marking process finishes it would start periodically shooting at it as you are free to deal your own damage or escape, you could swap targets on the fly as well by taking control over it again and marking another mob, it would work as a passive damaging/support item since its solo damage wont be high (45 per hit) but constantly shocking things and making enemies get bombarded is just fun and useful.

It would also allow solo players to know that its name is Jules.

Its in a really weird position right now. It doesn't have many applications where I can see myself using it outside of breaking mobs A.I and stunlocking things to death...
Its too slow to whip out and use on a dime.

I like this idea a lot. It reminds me of Warbis and the Scanalyzer!
And also those poor Flying Warbot drones we never got...

Honestly I think being able to whip it out, scan and lock onto a group of enemies, and then either staying in control, or tabbing out and letting an A.I keep up with you sounds sick. Gives players some more agency on how they want to use it, and it actually gives it some more use in solo play as well.

Zaptrocuter isn't supposed to be used as a weapon.

It's a tool used for zapping clockworks (mainly) because when you have a big enough army they kill a clockwork you are trying to tame before you get a chance to repair them.

I like it the way it is it serves it's purpose.

Morning Star already fills that use and more way easier. I like how the zaptrocuter works now but it is pretty niche, there's a few uses for it such as charging and aggroing a volt goat at the same time and some ranged aoe that's otherwise hard to get but its not the best because of it's startup time. other modes for it to let it support you in combat or other things would be very nice

As a player who almost exclusively plays solo, I really like this suggestion. As it stands, the Zaptrocuter is a funny gag at best and a complete waste of 1/2 skill points and a bunch of scrap at worst. Having it work as a follower-like creature instead would be a lot more interesting and make it more engaging to use solo.

Morning star aggros tamed clockworks. The zaptrocuter does not.

I'd be careful with this one because I feel like some strategy could fly under the radar easily. I wonder how well it preforms on the likes of Crab King...

He said it's useless for playing normally and broken for cheesing things. You're demonstrating that second thing.

You are right. I was hoping to come back with some Crab King news but my world glitched.

I have learned since though that the Electric Milk recharges circuits, so I can easily stock pile batteries using wrapping paper. I also went and recruited all the robots on the way to Fuelweaver using the drone. I think for one early skill point it does its job well as an electric boomerang.

Also, is the goal to prevent the cheese as seen in that picture?

The goal is to make it so that it's useful for normal play. I don't think his intention is to prevent people from being able to cheese with it, at least that's not the reason why I think it should be changed. Whether someone can cheese with it, to me, is irrelevant. I don't really care. But something should be fun and useful for playing normally. There's nothing fun about essentially AFKing while you just watch spelunkeys die on their own, and there's already tons of ways to achieve that without needing this item to do that. If this was something that helped WX-78 fight instead of fighting for him, that would be a lot more unique, a lot more fun, and a lot more useful.

No it’s not, Thats just your use for it and it’s a pretty bad way to use it.

Well there isn't many different ways you can use it, except killing a bunch of weak enemies stuck in a tight group, or charging volt goats. Unless you want to sink your resources into killing bosses in a very slow way. If there are not more "pretty bad ways to use it" then please enlighten me.

in a world with myself and a friend we completely stunlocked queen bee using it, I don't think its underpowered by any means

"where its kinda too weak and also broken in a cheesy way" I dont think stun locking a boss for 10 minutes is fun or well designed at all, its broken in such a boring way it hurts lol, i know it can stun lock every single boss in the game except for Warbot and Scion, it doesnt make it a well designed item.

I think it automatically attacking would do the same thing but now I get to melee things while they are shocked. You'd probably also have to make it cost more than a single skill point to unlock. I feel it is best to just let this be an electric boomerang and not some must have combat perk.
