People exploit cave entrances to make new herds, I think we should just have an actual herding mechanic we could create our own by saltlicks and fencing. It just feel more proper imo. Make it that you need a pair of animals instead if that makes it better or balanced.

i mean, taking it to the cave is the proper way to remove it from the herd

Why not have a natural way to make it happen as well? Or instead of it?

i mean caves probably still does work. i only have done it through bells so i wouldnt be able to tell you either way on any other methods!
